Matt Cyr--Associate Pastor  matt.cyr@ctkckenosha.org

Matt was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.  After high school, he left home to earn a music performance degree from Texas Christian University.  After a brief stint in Oklahoma City, Matt joined the Navy in 2007 to play trumpet.

During his first tour of duty in Yokosuka, Japan, Matt was graciously rescued by God and born again through faith in Jesus Christ.  An immediate love of the Bible produced a God-given passion to study the Scriptures.  After a few months, nearing the end of 2008, Matt began to sense a call to full-time pastoral ministry.

Matt met his wife, Elyse, at church, in 2012 and the two were married in October of that year.  They recently welcomed their first child, Grace Kathleen, into the world.  Upon completing his enlistment with the Navy in August 2013, Matt spent four years in seminary at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.   Matt and Elyse became members of Christ The King when the church was formed in 2013.  After graduating seminary, he was given the opportunity to join the staff of CTKC to serve as an associate pastor with two of his best friends and has been doing so since July of 2017.

When he has free time, Matt enjoys all things Frisbee, working out, and cycling.  He also is relentlessly searching for the "perfect" cup of coffee.  He and Elyse enjoy trying new restaurants, especially in search of the best breakfast potatoes and al Pastor burritos.

Matt's desire for CTKC is that we would be a people who invest our lives in service to our great God who has graciously saved us and adopted us into His family.
